De plus en plus appr\u00e9ci\u00e9, tant par les communicant.e.s, que par les publics, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">il permet de traiter de sujets tr\u00e8s vari\u00e9s :<\/span> des math\u00e9matiques, jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 la pal\u00e9ontologie, en passant par l&rsquo;histoire.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Je m&rsquo;avance peut-\u00eatre, mais j&rsquo;ai quand m\u00eame l&rsquo;impression (<em>ce serait \u00e0 v\u00e9rifier avec des \u00e9tudes<\/em>), que la vid\u00e9o est le <strong>dispositif roi de la vulgarisation scientifique.<\/strong> Face cam\u00e9ra ou non, les communicant.e.s peuvent ainsi parler d&rsquo;un sujet, tout en <strong>l&rsquo;illustrant avec des visuels.<\/strong> \u00c0 l&rsquo;\u00e8re d&rsquo;une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 o\u00f9 <strong>l&rsquo;image est si importante,<\/strong> son succ\u00e8s n&rsquo;est donc pas \u00e9tonnant.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pour mieux nous parler de <strong>ce support de vulgarisation scientifique<\/strong> (<em>la vid\u00e9o \u00e9tant typiquement un dispositif unilat\u00e9ral et descendant<\/em>), je vais laisser la parole \u00e0 <strong>L\u00ea Nguy\u00ean Hoang.<\/strong> Ce docteur en maths a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de faire aimer ces derni\u00e8res, ainsi que la physique, \u00e0 tous, gr\u00e2ce <strong>\u00e0 sa cha\u00eene<\/strong> <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #800080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UC0NCbj8CxzeCGIF6sODJ-7A\/about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Science4all<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Une vocation : vulgariser les sciences et les mettre \u00e0 la port\u00e9e de tous<br \/>\n<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>L\u00ea Nguy\u00ean Hoang<\/strong> s&rsquo;est lanc\u00e9 dans la vulgarisation scientifique en 2012, lorsqu&rsquo;il \u00e9tait en th\u00e8se. Cependant, il n&rsquo;a pas commenc\u00e9 par la vid\u00e9o, <strong>mais par l&rsquo;\u00e9crit,<\/strong> avec un blog en anglais. La chaine de L\u00ea ne fait pas exception, avec <strong>un d\u00e9collage des vues.<\/strong> Finalement, <strong>ses vid\u00e9os semblent avoir plus d&rsquo;impact que ses \u00e9crits<\/strong> du blog (<em>quelques milliers de vues par mois sur le blog entier, contre des centaines de milliers pour les vid\u00e9os<\/em>). C&rsquo;est le <strong>m\u00eame r\u00e9sultat pour les abonn\u00e9s,<\/strong> avec des centaines de milliers de nouveaux spectateurs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mais pourquoi un tel engouement pour les vid\u00e9os ? Pour L\u00ea, ce support est un <strong>tr\u00e8s bon m\u00e9dium de vulgarisation scientifique.<\/strong> Il permet de rendre un sujet <strong>plus dynamique et int\u00e9ressant,<\/strong> surtout une discipline telle que les math\u00e9matiques. En effet, l&rsquo;\u00e9crit a tendance \u00e0 <strong>la rendre plut\u00f4t fig\u00e9e.<\/strong> Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l&rsquo;oral, il est possible de <strong>transmettre des \u00e9motions, de souligner les messages plus ou moins importants, de montrer ce qui est vraiment pertinent.<\/strong> La vid\u00e9o est, pour L\u00ea, <strong>plus plaisante.<\/strong> Avec elle, il ose <strong>faire des blagues et de l&rsquo;humour<\/strong> et il peut \u00e9galement <strong>pr\u00e9senter plus de visuels.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Quelle serait la \u00ab\u00a0recette\u00a0\u00bb id\u00e9ale pour avoir une \u00ab\u00a0bonne\u00a0\u00bb vid\u00e9o de vulgarisation scientifique\u00a0?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Il n&rsquo;y a <strong>pas de recette miracle.<\/strong> Finalement, cela d\u00e9pend surtout <strong>du style des vid\u00e9os.<\/strong> Le plus important, pour L\u00ea, c&rsquo;est qu&rsquo;il faut qu&rsquo;il y ait <strong>des disparit\u00e9s dans toutes les offres,<\/strong> car tout le monde n&rsquo;aime pas les m\u00eames choses. Ce qui compte, c&rsquo;est <strong>d&rsquo;\u00e9viter absolument les contre-sens.<\/strong> Une astuce de pro ? Pensez \u00e0 <strong>partager vos enthousiasme et votre curiosit\u00e9.<\/strong> En effet, n&rsquo;oubliez pas que l&rsquo;objectif de votre vid\u00e9o est que <strong>les spectateurs aient envie d&rsquo;en savoir plus&#8230;<\/strong> (<em>D&rsquo;ailleurs, c&rsquo;est pour moi l&rsquo;un des objectifs principaux de la vulgarisation scientifique, vous le savez !<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>La forme est aussi tr\u00e8s importante.<\/strong> Il faut parfois r\u00e9aliser plusieurs vid\u00e9os pour pouvoir trouver son style. Pour L\u00ea, il faut dans tous les cas <strong>proposer quelque chose de dynamique,<\/strong> il faut <strong>\u00e9viter les longs monologues.<\/strong> De plus, il faut penser <strong>au rythme de la vid\u00e9o,<\/strong> ne pas h\u00e9siter \u00e0 <strong>rentrer dans les d\u00e9tails si n\u00e9cessaire,<\/strong> tout en ponctuant <strong>de traits d&rsquo;humour.<\/strong> Attention par contre \u00e0 <strong>ne pas seulement privil\u00e9gier la technique !<\/strong> Il faut trouver le bon dosage <strong>entre des notions trop complexes ou, \u00e0 l&rsquo;inverse, trop basiques.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cependant, encore une fois, il n&rsquo;y a <strong>pas de r\u00e8gle universelle.<\/strong> Une \u00ab\u00a0bonne\u00a0\u00bb vid\u00e9o de vulgarisation scientifique d\u00e9pend surtout <strong>de la cha\u00eene en question,<\/strong> certaines s&rsquo;axent en effet plus sur <strong>le c\u00f4t\u00e9 fun que d&rsquo;autres.<\/strong> Le <strong>public est aussi \u00e0 prendre en compte,<\/strong> tous ne cherchent pas les m\u00eames choses, il est donc <strong>important de les \u00e9couter !<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Pas une, mais trois cha\u00eenes de vid\u00e9os de vulgarisation scientifique<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Un partenariat tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ressant avec l&rsquo;EPFL<\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">L\u00ea poss\u00e8de donc <strong>sa propre cha\u00eene de vulgarisation scientifique,<\/strong> mais ce n&rsquo;est pas tout ! Il est \u00e9galement <strong>co-responsable de deux cha\u00eenes pour l&rsquo;<em>EPFL<\/em><\/strong> (<em>\u00c9cole Polytechnique F\u00e9d\u00e9rale de Lausanne<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La premi\u00e8re, <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #800080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCD_VizaraVT9yDy1egNlWCQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wandida<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, a tout d&rsquo;abord \u00e9t\u00e9 lanc\u00e9e par Medhi El Aldi. C&rsquo;\u00e9tait \u00e0 la base des <strong>vid\u00e9os plut\u00f4t \u00ab\u00a0scolaires\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong> pour expliquer des <strong>concepts math\u00e9matiques.<\/strong> Cette cha\u00eene a bien fonctionn\u00e9 et Medhi a donc propos\u00e9 <strong>aux professeurs de l&rsquo;<em>EPFL<\/em> de r\u00e9aliser \u00e9galement quelques vid\u00e9os.<\/strong> L&rsquo;institution a ainsi trouv\u00e9 le projet int\u00e9ressant et \u00e0 d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de le r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer aux alentours de 2015. <strong>L&rsquo;image de l&rsquo;universit\u00e9 est en effet tr\u00e8s importante,<\/strong> notamment pour <strong>favoriser le recrutement<\/strong> des \u00e9l\u00e8ves et des professeurs. Elle n\u00e9cessite donc <strong>une bonne exposition et un bon r\u00e9f\u00e9rencement,<\/strong> en particulier sur les moteurs de recherche comme Google (<em>le classement de Shanghai y est souvent tr\u00e8s corr\u00e9l\u00e9<\/em>). Elles vont traiter <strong>d&rsquo;une id\u00e9e, d&rsquo;un concept, d&rsquo;un th\u00e9or\u00e8me \u00e0 clarifier ou encore d&rsquo;un point particuli\u00e8rement difficile vu en cours<\/strong> par les \u00e9tudiants. Cette cha\u00eene suppose donc que les spectateurs <strong>aient d\u00e9j\u00e0 des pr\u00e9-requis.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cependant, l&rsquo;<em>EPFL<\/em> est aussi consciente que de plus en plus de personnes utilisent YouTube <strong>pour trouver des informations ou des r\u00e9ponses \u00e0 leurs questions.<\/strong> C&rsquo;est pour cela que <strong>la cha\u00eene ZettaBytes existe.<\/strong> Son contenu est <strong>beaucoup plus vulgaris\u00e9 et touche donc un public plus large et d&rsquo;ailleurs fid\u00e8le.<\/strong> La cha\u00eene explique les <strong>recherches actuelles men\u00e9es sur certains sujets,<\/strong> comme l&rsquo;Intelligence Artificielle, <strong>elle pr\u00e9sente des pistes pour le futur.<\/strong> Les vid\u00e9os sont donc destin\u00e9es \u00e0 des publics qui ont fait quelques ann\u00e9es d&rsquo;\u00e9tudes apr\u00e8s le bac, mais <strong>pas \u00e0 des experts.<\/strong> Il n&rsquo;y a pas forc\u00e9ment besoin d&rsquo;avoir de pr\u00e9-requis.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Une vulgarisation scientifique r\u00e9ussie ?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Les publics abonn\u00e9s aux deux cha\u00eenes de l&rsquo;<em>EPFL<\/em> sont plut\u00f4t <strong>conformes aux attentes.<\/strong> Pour Wandida, i<strong>l s&rsquo;agit bien d&rsquo;\u00e9tudiants,<\/strong> entre 18 et 24 ans. Tandis que ZettaBytes regroupe <strong>des personnes entre 24 et 35 ans<\/strong> (<em>donc bien un public plus large<\/em>). Il est par contre <strong>plus difficile de mobiliser les personnes ayant 40 ans ou plus,<\/strong> car elles sont moins utilisatrices des plateformes de vid\u00e9os.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Wandida existe depuis 2011 et, pour l&rsquo;<em>EPFL<\/em>, c&rsquo;est<strong> une exp\u00e9rience tr\u00e8s positive.<\/strong> Elle comptabilise <strong>plus de 2 millions de vues<\/strong> et co\u00fbte finalement tr\u00e8s peu d&rsquo;argent, car les vid\u00e9os sont souvent faites avec les moyens du bord. <strong>Beaucoup de professeurs utilisent les vid\u00e9os ou y font r\u00e9f\u00e9rence<\/strong> pendant leurs cours. <strong>Les \u00e9l\u00e8ves les utilisent \u00e9galement<\/strong> souvent comme compl\u00e9ments. Certaines ont m\u00eame \u00e9t\u00e9 <strong>pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es dans des congr\u00e8s.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En effet, <strong>le monde acad\u00e9mique pl\u00e9biscite de plus en plus les supports vid\u00e9os.<\/strong> Ainsi, la conf\u00e9rence <em>NIPS<\/em> de d\u00e9cembre 2017 (<em>ax\u00e9e sur l&rsquo;IA<\/em>) encourageait fortement les chercheurs <strong>\u00e0 accompagner leur article \u00e0 soumettre d&rsquo;une vid\u00e9o de quelques minutes<\/strong> pour pr\u00e9senter leurs r\u00e9sultats de recherche. L&rsquo;<em>EPFL<\/em>, quant \u00e0 elle, propose <strong>des concours de vid\u00e9os entre doctorants.<\/strong> Ces derniers doivent cr\u00e9er des vid\u00e9os de 2 minutes, puis un jury vote pour la vid\u00e9o la plus aboutie et le gagnant pourra participer \u00e0 un s\u00e9minaire. Enfin, il faut savoir que de plus en plus d&rsquo;universit\u00e9s regardent <strong>si les professeurs en recherche d&rsquo;un poste<\/strong> ont, ou non, cr\u00e9\u00e9s des vid\u00e9os. Cela leur permet de savoir si <strong>le candidat est un bon p\u00e9dagogue et s&rsquo;il est capable de vulgariser son sujet.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Y a-t-il des am\u00e9liorations qu\u2019il faudrait apporter \u00e0 la vid\u00e9o pour diffuser les sciences au plus grand nombre ?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Il est tr\u00e8s important <strong>qu&rsquo;une vid\u00e9o soit rapide \u00e0 faire<\/strong> (<em>le temps de cr\u00e9ation est souvent sous-estim\u00e9<\/em>).
