Nous changeons de registre avec ce nouveau roman,<\/strong> Le Tr\u00e9sor de Sunthy<\/span>, \u00e9dit\u00e9 par la maison d’\u00e9dition Lucca \u00c9ditions<\/strong><\/span><\/a> et nous entrons dans le domaine des sciences sociales.<\/strong> Arnaud Friedmann nous emm\u00e8ne au Cambodge, d\u00e9couvrir l’\u00e9poque tragique des Khmer Rouges.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ou plut\u00f4t, il nous invite \u00e0 suivre sa jeune h\u00e9ro\u00efne,<\/strong> Garance, en qu\u00eate de ses origines et de son histoire. Nous la suivrons donc jusqu’au Cambodge, sur les traces de son grand-p\u00e8re.<\/p>\n

Ce que j’appr\u00e9cie particuli\u00e8rement avec ce roman, c’est qu’il nous emm\u00e8ne d\u00e9couvrir l’univers (tr\u00e8s<\/em>) vaste des sciences sociales !<\/strong> L’auteur nous g\u00e2te en effet en nous proposant un large \u00e9ventail de disciplines des SHS<\/strong> et c’est vraiment tr\u00e8s enrichissant. Cela change des pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents romans \u00e9dit\u00e9s par Lucca \u00c9ditions, qui concernaient diff\u00e9rents domaines des sciences dites \u00ab\u00a0dures\u00a0\u00bb. Comment Le Tr\u00e9sor de Sunthy<\/span> diffuse-t-il les connaissances ? De quels types sont-elles ? La vulgarisation est-elle efficace ?<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Garance, l’h\u00e9ro\u00efne du Tr\u00e9sor de Sunthy<\/span> qui vit avec son temps<\/span><\/h2>\n

L’h\u00e9ro\u00efne du roman d’Arnaud Friedmann est une jeune adolescente d’environ 14-15 ans,<\/strong> en classe de troisi\u00e8me. Garance Tran, de son pr\u00e9nom, est une h\u00e9ro\u00efne attachante.<\/strong> Elle ne cherche pas \u00e0 se diff\u00e9rencier des \u00ab\u00a0autres\u00a0\u00bb de son \u00ab\u00a0esp\u00e8ce\u00a0\u00bb (contrairement aux h\u00e9ro\u00efnes des pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents romans dont je vous ai d\u00e9j\u00e0 parl\u00e9<\/em>). Au contraire, c’est plut\u00f4t une bonne repr\u00e9sentante des adolescentes<\/strong> de cet \u00e2ge.<\/p>\n

J’entends par l\u00e0 qu’elle a le caract\u00e8re un peu conflictuel et affirm\u00e9<\/strong> propre \u00e0 cet \u00e2ge, qui s’accompagne de petits d\u00e9fauts et d’un peu d’\u00e9go\u00efsme. Ces pr\u00e9occupations (tr\u00e8s importantes<\/em>) sont aussi celles d’une jeune fille de 15 ans :<\/span> comment s’habiller, les gar\u00e7ons… Bref, elle appara\u00eet vraie et vivante.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ce qui la rend \u00e9galement tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ressante, c’est qu’elle est r\u00e9fl\u00e9chie et pose beaucoup de questions.<\/strong> Cette fa\u00e7on de faire permet de r\u00e9ellement nous inclure dans son histoire et dans sa vie.<\/strong> Garance jouera compl\u00e8tement le r\u00f4le d’interm\u00e9diaire<\/strong> pour la transmission de connaissances. Un moyen original et tr\u00e8s inclusif.<\/strong> En revanche, il peut nous arriver d’\u00eatre un peu frustr\u00e9.<\/strong> En effet, l’h\u00e9ro\u00efne a beaucoup de questions, pourtant, elle n’ose pas toujours les poser, nous n’avons donc pas toutes les r\u00e9ponses.<\/strong> Est-ce une volont\u00e9 de l’auteur<\/strong> de frustrer ces lecteurs ? Est-ce une mani\u00e8re d’inciter le lecteur \u00e0 en savoir plus par lui-m\u00eame ?<\/strong> Apr\u00e8s tout, il est l\u00e0 le but ultime de la vulgarisation scientifique :<\/span> susciter la curiosit\u00e9.<\/strong><\/p>\n

J’\u00e9mettrai quand m\u00eame un b\u00e9mol sur notre petite Garance. Il lui arrive de perdre son aspect \u00ab\u00a0enfantin\u00a0\u00bb,<\/strong> remplac\u00e9 par un c\u00f4t\u00e9 \u00e9tudiant\/doctorant<\/strong> qui est trop d\u00e9cal\u00e9<\/strong> et qui lui fait donc perdre en cr\u00e9dibilit\u00e9. Certaines de ses questions sont vraiment trop \u00ab\u00a0expertes\u00a0\u00bb et incongrues<\/strong> dans la bouche d’une enfant. Petite d\u00e9formation professionnelle de l’auteur ?<\/p>\n

Les Sciences Humaines et Sociales \u00e0 l’honneur<\/span><\/h3>\n

Le Tr\u00e9sor de Sunthy<\/span><\/strong> fait la part belle aux sciences humaines et sociales.<\/strong> L’auteur nous offre un \u00e9ventail tr\u00e8s riche et vari\u00e9 des diff\u00e9rents domaines \u00e9tudi\u00e9s par ces disciplines :<\/strong><\/span> sciences grammaticales, linguistiques, soci\u00e9tales et surtout historiques.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Il y a \u00e9galement beaucoup de r\u00e9flexions sur la famille et les relations interg\u00e9n\u00e9rationnelles.<\/strong> Des sujets de soci\u00e9t\u00e9 qui sont de plus en plus d’actualit\u00e9,<\/strong> les \u00e9carts entre les g\u00e9n\u00e9rations se creusant, ce qui peut engendrer des histoires perdues ou des non-dits.<\/strong> Une controverse<\/strong> est \u00e9galement soulev\u00e9e par Arnaud Friedmann :<\/span> celle de l’apprentissage de l’histoire \u00e0 l’\u00e9cole.<\/strong> Un sujet assez pr\u00e9occupant de mon point de vue, avec une diminution de l’int\u00e9r\u00eat des \u00e9l\u00e8ves<\/strong> pour cette mati\u00e8re, qui si je ne me trompe pas, devient optionnelle en Terminale. Une remise en question est-elle n\u00e9cessaire ? Les sujets trait\u00e9s sont-ils trop abstraits<\/strong> pour les \u00e9l\u00e8ves ? Leur manque-t-il de contexte pour pouvoir mieux appr\u00e9hender les faits ?<\/strong> Finalement l’int\u00e9r\u00eat pour l’histoire serait peut-\u00eatre plus fort si elle touchait directement les \u00e9l\u00e8ves,<\/strong> par le biais d’anecdotes peut-\u00eatre ? Serait-ce une autre fa\u00e7on de l’enseigner ?<\/p>\n

Et si on y r\u00e9fl\u00e9chit bien, ces r\u00e9flexions sont finalement propres \u00e0 toutes les sciences aujourd’hui…<\/strong><\/p>\n

L’histoire : les connaissances principales transmises par Le Tr\u00e9sor de Sunthy<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

Les connaissances principales transmises par le roman sont historiques.<\/strong> Elles concernent une partie de l’Histoire encore assez m\u00e9connue en France :<\/span> celle du Cambodge et des Khmers Rouges.<\/strong> C’est une bonne chose, puisqu’il est important de sensibiliser sur ce g\u00e9nocide, que nous \u00e9tudions tr\u00e8s peu en France.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Les savoirs sont tr\u00e8s pr\u00e9cis et diffus\u00e9s tout au long du roman.<\/strong> Ils se fondent tr\u00e8s bien gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l’aspect \u00ab\u00a0d’enqu\u00eate\u00a0\u00bb que prend l’histoire.<\/strong> Il y a beaucoup d’\u00e9motions,<\/strong> mais l’effet n’est pas larmoyant. Au contraire, l’\u00e9criture reste pudique et factuelle.<\/strong> Une tr\u00e8s bonne mani\u00e8re pour sensibiliser et transmettre.<\/strong> Par contre, le roman \u00e9tant \u00e0 destination de la jeunesse, sa lecture n\u00e9cessite un accompagnement.<\/strong> Les plus jeunes lecteurs ne doivent pas rester seuls face \u00e0 ces connaissances transmises. Il faut les encourager \u00e0 poser des questions afin qu’ils puissent prendre du recul<\/strong> et assimiler le contenu efficacement.<\/p>\n

Ce qui m’a particuli\u00e8rement plu dans cette lecture, c’est la pr\u00e9sentation de la d\u00e9marche scientifique.<\/strong> L’historien appara\u00eet comme un d\u00e9tective qui \u00e9met des hypoth\u00e8ses, exp\u00e9rimente, cherche des solutions et tire des conclusions.<\/strong> Les notions d’enqu\u00eate, d’hypoth\u00e8se, de th\u00e9ories, d’exp\u00e9riences… s’appliquent \u00e0 tous les domaines des sciences.<\/strong> J’appr\u00e9cie notamment le passage r\u00e9sum\u00e9 de la th\u00e8se<\/strong> sur l’accueil des r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s Cambodgiens et son d\u00e9coupage :<\/span> remerciements, introduction, conclusion. Un bel exemple de l’existant.<\/p>\n

Un roman qui parlera \u00e0 de nombreux lecteurs<\/span><\/h2>\n

Pour r\u00e9sum\u00e9, Le Tr\u00e9sor de Sunthy<\/span> est (encore<\/em>) un tr\u00e8s bel exemple de dispositif de vulgarisation scientifique r\u00e9ussi.<\/strong> D’un point de vue purement romanesque, l’histoire est bien \u00e9crite et bien amen\u00e9e.<\/strong> On est vraiment pris par l’intrigue et son format d’enqu\u00eate<\/strong> et on vit vraiment l’histoire au travers des questions et r\u00e9flexions<\/strong> de Garance.<\/p>\n

D’un point de vue vulgarisation,<\/strong> les connaissances sont pr\u00e9cises, bien amen\u00e9es et diffus\u00e9es agr\u00e9ablement tout au long de la lecture.<\/strong> Il n’y a donc pas d’aspect de lourdeur et d’ennui. L’autre propose beaucoup de questions et de pistes de r\u00e9flexions,<\/strong> cette lecture me semble donc un tr\u00e8s bon point de d\u00e9part pour des cours d’histoire ou de fran\u00e7ais.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Enfin, le roman propose diff\u00e9rents niveaux de lecture<\/strong> et je pense que tout lecteur finira par s’y retrouver. D’une part, parce qu’il est \u00e9crit \u00e0 la premi\u00e8re personne,<\/strong> ce qui le rend tr\u00e8s inclusif,<\/strong> d’autre part car il concerne des histoires de familles.<\/strong> Et, qui n’a pas de non-dits ou de \u00ab\u00a0secrets\u00a0\u00bb dans sa famille ?<\/p>\n
